Ok, so I'm finally getting my dA into a respectable state! Year 12, as you can imagine, took up a lot of my time but I'm now getting into my photography seriously and even writing more.
I just spent 2 days uplaoding a whole bunch of images that I've had on my computer forever, including some I'd completely forgotten about.  They're in my gallery, filed away under photography and I've been getting a lot of [positive feedback already which makes me feel much better about being part of dA.  It's also made me a more enthusiastic member and I've joined groups for once in my life! I just joined The Canon Club and PhotographersClub which will hopefully get some more exposure for my photography.
I've also started shooting at local events such as the Canberra Cup Water Polo Tournament and hopefully will have some of my images used on the club website so really I'm very excited about everything at the moment.
And of course this is all due to the fact that my parents love me and bought me a beautiful new camera for my birthday! It's a Canon Eos 550D with an 18-200mm zoom lens.  The telephoto capacity is brilliant but one thing it is lacking is a macro capacity.  I desperately want a macro lens so if anyone has any suggestions for good Canon macros let me know
Anywho, that's my little update out of the way.  Hopefully from now I'm going to be a much more involved individual of the dA community.
